The following letter would go to all of the above, but its
content is mainly named at those listed with a question mark. They
do good work, and some of their past work seems relevant, but we
want those who are likely to produce something relevant for the
conference in June 1985.
Dear Colleague:
We plan to hold a conference on the use of mathematical logic
in artificial intelligence, linguistics and analytic philosophy. The
conference will be at Stanford University in June 1985. Support for
travel expenses will be applied for.
We hope you will propose to give a lecture. Proposals can
be of any length from half a page up, i.e. you can say what you
propose to talk about or send us a paper or both. We plan to make
decisions seriatim rather than all at once, so that authors accepted
early will have plenty of time to prepare. For recipients of this
letter the criteria will be whether topic adds enough to the content
of the conference as planned. Submissions by authors less well
known to produce good work will be refereed in a more conventional
way.
